Jonathan, a graduate of International Yoga Instructor Course at Malaysian Association of Yoga Instructors (MAYI), stepped on the yoga mat to strengthen his lower back that suffered from acute pain after years of lifting weights. As a hardcore weight-training enthusiast, practicing yoga was initially an unimaginable choice of exercise regime. However, after having made gradual progress in strengthening his lower back, Jonathan realized that yoga enhanced both physical and mental health. He has since been exposed to various styles of yoga from Ashtanga to Hatha and Iyengar. Jonathan teaches Hatha, Yin, Power Yoga and Yoga Therapy.
Jonathan teaches yoga to various age groups, among them senior citizens with challenging physical conditions and other sport enthusiasts e.g. bodybuilders. He can testify how yoga improves their quality of life and complements their sport performance by enhancing physical strength, flexibility, endurance and concentration. His passion and knowledge in yoga has greatly impacted on his approach towards weight training that he still enjoys. As he emphasizes “yoga heals, not harms” in class, Jonathan believes that yoga is non-competitive and progress comes naturally only with persistent practice under professional guidance. He encourages practitioners to let go of their ego, go with the flows of an effective breathing and listen to their bodies with conscious mind during practice. As an ardent music enthusiast, Jonathan also believes in the therapeutic power of music. He incorporates meticulously chosen Native American, acoustic, classical and other music genres with simple natural soothing sounds to create a relaxing meditative mode during practice that calms mind, body and soul, and enhances wellbeing after practice. Join Jonathan’s classes for a well-rounded practice fusing with everyone-can-strike-a-pose analogies, laughter and great selections of music. |

Jane started her yoga practice with a small yoga studio in Kajang.
Headstand (Salamba Sirsasana) was a pose that signed her up for the first yoga class till today. She completed her level 200hour yoga teacher training course in year 2011 with Lance Schuler, Inspaya Yoga. In year 2015 completed 50hour Yin Yoga teacher training with Victor Chng, Yoga In Asia. She believes that practice and all is coming. She hope that the students will feel more relaxed mentally and physically after class and looking forward for the next coming classes. |
Mimi started her yoga journey in 2007, to teach kid’s yoga after completed Y-Kids 20-hours Foundation Course under YSynergy. She finds planning for a class with kids aged ranging from 5 years to 12 years old very challenging as kids have short attention span. Asana sequences has to be creative in order to make the class as fun as possible. The scariest feedback from her young students “Teacher, we did that already last week? What’s new?”.
Year 2011, she graduated her RYS 200 with Inspya Yoga, the International Yoga School of Lance Schuler, registered with Yoga Alliance. Year 2019, she completed her 200 Yin Yoga TT with Jo Phee & Joe Barnett. Currently, she teaches in Aravind Yoga in Plaza Damas & Everfit Yoga in Kajang. Never a bendy, her seated forward bend has become positive after years of practise! The famous quote said “Yoga is a journey, not a destination”… Oh yes, she definitely agrees on this! |

Heather was first introduced to yoga by taking her first step on the hammock in the air with Christopher at Aravind Yoga. She quickly fell in love with Aerial Yoga. Once hooked, she started a consistent physical practice, by further delving into yoga to learn and have a deeper understanding. That is when she truly started her yoga journey and has transformed how she views what yoga is about.
For Heather, it is a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual practice that can leave the body in a beautiful state of balance and harmony. The connection of the mind and body came to be a strong part of her practice, and she hopes to inspire students to incorporate this aspect of mindful practice when on the hammock, whether it’s in an aerial pose or doing some fancy aerial trick. Heather teaches Basic and Intermediate Aerial Yoga. She completed her Aerial Yoga certification (Aerial Yoga TT and Advanced Aerial Yoga TT) with OM Factory under the guidance of Brenna Bradbury. Her classes integrate aerial poses with dynamic transitions for a creative and challenging flow practice. She loves when pieces of a puzzle are brought together~ good things can fall together. Come take flight with her in connecting the pieces and learn to create beautiful aerial sequences. Heather loves this saying… “There’s nothing to gain from the asana (pose) and everything to gain on the journey there.” |
Syakirah's journey started with Iyengar yoga 8 years ago and she hasn't looked back since. She decided to try a different type of yoga which involves using a hammock to compliment her practice.
From that day onwards, she fell in love with aerial yoga and finally decided to take the plunge and went on to do 150 hours of aerial yoga training. It's been 3 years and she now teaches twice a week to both beginners and intermediate students. You can expect to sweat buckets in her class and have truckloads of fun while being upside down. |
Ame tried aerial yoga for the very first time back in 2015 as a birthday gift from her best friend. She was "hooked’ immediately and after about a year of practice, she decided to take her yoga experience to the mat to work on her endurance and flexibility.
Not only did this open her up to a whole new world that goes beyond yoga asanas, her growing passion inspired her to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training. With this knowledge, she implements more conscious poses and sequences into her aerial classes hoping that her students will learn and understand their bodies better. She ensures that both new and regular students are able to participate by giving them options and encouraging them (she’s very persuasive!). Apart from that, Ame also has weekly themes planned out, from festive-inspired to anatomically-focused to keep her students on their toes and maybe even have a little bit of fun! |
